Biblical Family Tree Chart

The Biblical Family Tree Chart poster contains an overview of the Biblical timeline from Adam and Eve to Jesus. Created by expert chart-maker Matt Baker, it summarizes the timeline of characters and events described in the Bible beginning with Adam and Eve and their children.

From there it weaves through biblical history highlighting the story of Noah and the great flood and continuing with the family tree of Abraham which includes Isaac and Jacob. These three are widely considered the fathers of Israel.

Many other biblical characters are charted chronologically for an easy understanding of when certain historical people lived and when events took place as written in the Bible. These include:

  • The lives ancient religious figures such as Moses, Samuel, David and Solomon
  • The Prophets such as Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel
  • The timeline of the various ancient kingdoms and how they relate to each other including Israel, Judah, Egypt, Damascus, Assyria, Samaria, Babylon, Persia and Macedonia,
  • Important Biblical texts and archeological finds and their place on the timeline
  • The Pharos of Egypt and their place in the timeline
  • The timeline of the books and writings that make up the Bible itself
  • The family tree of Mary and Joseph, leading of course to Jesus

The date ranges shown in the chart include what the author calls “Christian Literalist Dates,” “Jewish Traditional Dates” and actual “Historical Dates.”

The first roughly 3000 years of the timeline, which starts with Adam and Eve, chronicles the same events in two ways. One uses Christian Literalist Dates which are the dates estimated from the Bible from the Christian point of view. The second is the Jewish Traditional Dates which takes the same events and assigns slightly different dates based on the Jewish reading of the Bible.

Beginning in 930 BC, the chart uses dates which are called Historical Dates. Because these dates can be verified by writings both inside and outside the Bible, they are generally accepted as having greater accuracy.

The Biblical Family Tree Chart is an excellent resource for religious education, both personal and classroom. You may purchase the poster using the button below.
